Simulating Scholarship is one of our 3 Cardinal Principles, so as you can imagine, it is quite important to us. In order to promote academics within Phi Sigma Kappa, our fraternity offers several incentives and services to help our brothers achieve academic success.
Incentives to do well academically include reductions in fraternity dues, recognition, and can result in a Chapter Scholarship, awarded to one brother every April. The semester GPA reductions are based on a sliding GPA scale from 3.0 to 3.5 to 4.0. The higher GPA you get, the more money you save!
Phi Sigma Kappa also provides study halls on several nights of the week, lists of tutors and study halls for subjects, help selecting classes, and a wealth of experience from our academically diverse brotherhood.
Further, we have just started a new "scholarship team" program where two members are paired at the beginning of the semester based on last semester's GPA. The team with the highest collective GPA at the end of the semester is rewarded.
- Last semester, our chapter had an average GPA of 3.0 for active members, which is above the Stetson average GPA.
- Phi Sigma Kappa also received awards including highest active member GPA and Greek Scholar of the Year.
